Spring Break 2012: MOAB

April 5th - 8th
We haven't had a family vacation in a long time. We had everyone but Sunni on the trip. I wish she could have come but it was fun to be with everyone else. We all met up in Green River and stayed there. I have been to the arches before but it was when I was really little and I didn't remember it, so it was fun to do something that I didn't remember.

Thursday: We went to goblin valley. I remember coming here when I was younger. It was fun to play around and to plank some of the rock formations. We celebrated Dakota's birthday with cupcakes!

Friday: We went to see the arches. It was really windy and cold but it was fun to hike around. The arches are beautiful and huge. We hiked up to the delicate arch which was really cool.

Saturday: We went to an old ghost town that is in Sego canyon. We saw some petroglyphs which was cool. We then drove the canyon that runs along the colorado river that puts you into Moab. We hung out at the river and had lunch. We then went to Dead Horse Point. Beautiful view!

Sunday: My cute parents set up an easter egg hunt in the back of the hotel parking lot. Then we headed home.

Holidays 2011

I love this time of the year. So much going on and I get to spend time with my amazing family. I usually am not a fan of halloween but I had fun carving pumpkins with my friend Andrew.

Thanksgiving was a little different this year. Not very many people around this year. Sunni flew in which was awesome. Sunni and I got into a pie making kick and made pumpkin, squash, key lime, banana cream, and the best was our pecan pie. This was our first time really making the pies and they turned out awesome. Even though it was just a small portion of my family, it was good time. I am so very thankful for everyone in my family.

Christmas is my favorite holiday! We went to temple square a few days before Christmas. It was freezing but it was fun to see the lights. One of the reasons I love Christmas so much is because of the  many traditions that I grew up with and that I love. A few of my favorite traditions are recreating the nativity in the barn, homemade orange juice and omelets Christmas morning, and staying in pajamas all day long. We had everyone around this Christmas! It was great.

After Christmas, one of our traditions is to go out shooting. This year we went out to Grantsville and had so much fun!

Hot Air Balloon Festival 2011

October 2011
Albuquerque, NM

I went down to spend the weekend with J-rod. It was the perfect weekend because it was the hot air balloon festival and I had friday off. I flew down friday morning and Jared picked me up. He took me to the waffle house for breakfast and then we went to the aquarium. It was so much fun. He even got me to touch a sting ray! After that he surprised me and took me to the Aerial Tramway. It was so cool. The Tram took us up to the top of the Sandia Mountains. The view was beautiful. The weather was not very good this weekend. It snowed while we were up at the top. I think cold weather follows me wherever I go, haha. The weather made it so we couldn't see them light up the balloons that night. We went and saw Real Steel and I must say that I loved it!

We woke up the next morning and luckily the weather cooperated with us and we got to go to the balloon festival. It was still very cold and my shoe choice sucked because I walked around with cold wet feet all morning. It was ok though because it was so cool and so worth it. I think hot air balloons are so cool and it was awesome to see so many of them. Later, we went to Santa Fe. It was a cool little town. We had fun walking around and then we just chilled at the hotel the rest of the night. On Sunday, we went and looked at puppies for Jared. I don't really love dogs but puppies melt my heart. He didn't get one but he ended up getting a couple a few weeks later. We went and saw the Lion King since I wanted to see it in the theatre. We ate at Panda, which seems to be a new tradition, and then I was off to the airport. The trip was way to short but I had a lot of fun. I am so glad that I was able to go spend a few days with Jared. Thanks Jared for the fun weekend!

When life gives you lemons.....go SKYDIVING

Saturday, September 24, 2011

Ac's birthday was coming up and who knew that Ac has always wanted to go skydiving. Well I knew he was going and I was super excited for him. I have always thought it would be cool to go but it wasn't at the top of my lists to do. Well the night before Ac's big jump, I was hanging out with him. We played games at his Grandma's and then we went down and hung out at Kesia's & Brittany's place. I don't know how he talked me into it, (Ok lets me honest it wasn't that hard) but by the end of the night I said I would go, it was really late what can I say. I didn't tell anyone and honestly I went thinking that it was to late to actually do it. Well they made room for me on the plane and Ac and Emily talked me into it. I was excited but also a little nervous. The plane ride up felt like forever. I was the first one to jump. It was so INCREDIBLE! After I jumped the butterflies in my stomach went away. Here I am falling and it didn't even feel like it. It was such a strange feeling. The only part I didn't like was when the chute was pulled. That hurt. haha. It was all worth it though. The view was beautiful. What an experience. I am so glad that Ac talked me into going. Skydiving is awesome and I can't wait to go again.
